The 2024 Golden Globe Awards are happening right now, celebrating the best in TV and movies. Comedian Jo Koy is hosting the event, which is live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, after the red carpet show.

Two big contenders tonight are “Barbie” and “Succession,” each with nine nominations. “Barbie” is up for Best Musical or Comedy Motion Picture, while “Succession” aims for the Best Television Drama Series.

Another strong contender is “Oppenheimer,” part of the famous Barbenheimer duo, grabbing eight nominations. It’s competing for Best Drama Motion Picture against other movies like Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” and Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” a movie about Leonard Bernstein.

This Golden Globes marks the first since the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which used to organize the ceremony, disbanded due to controversies. The event is now handled by Dick Clark Productions, who got the Golden Globes rights after working with the HFPA for many years.

You can watch the ceremony live on CBS or stream it on Paramount+ and the CBS app, both under Paramount Global, the company that also owns CBS News.
